SVM was able to secure coverage for 401 Tech Bridge as they awarded grant funding to three Rhode Island-based companies in their first-ever Materials Innovation Challenge. Formed to address the fact that smaller companies who make up the bulk of the region’s advanced materials business do not have R&D lab space to push their projects through the testing and commercialization process like that of larger organizations, 401 Tech Bridge connected the winners with the URI College of Engineering lab space, faculty, and students to collaborate in developing their ideas into solutions. The media coverage was leveraged on social media and built upon after the fact with pitching organizational leadership to local and industry press.
